Tyre wear, how many miles do you get?

Featured Replies

I replaced my front boots a few months ago (Avon ZV5) and they had even wear and lasted just over 25,000 miles. I liked the grip from the Avons in wet and dry, Summer and Winter use, so I replaced them with the ZV7. The rears are Barum Bravuris 2, and have done just over 23,000 miles, and there is load of tread left on them.

So, how many miles do you get from your tyres?

I got 8,000 miles out of 225/45/17 ZV5 fronts, rears would've lasted longer had it not been for irreparable puncture.

I replaced all 4 with budget Constancy items.

They look a bit naff as they are a full 1" narrower than the Avons despite same size so look a bit skinny on the rims.

Grip wise they are slightly better than ZV5s with a more predictable nature, the Avons were fine one second and would just let go the next.

The Constancy items have a softer sidewall so the car does wallow a bit in corners, noise is pretty much the same.

I'm probably going to get the same mileage from these kung fu rubber boots.

£45 each fitted.

Would I buy again... if funds dictated so.

Would I buy ZV5s again... no.

CP641 Nexan 25000 so far with changing front to rear yearly with even wear still good tread depth.

I had Michelins on before, can't remember the exact ones but were from Costco. I had 45K out of them before one of the fronts got to legal limit.

Changed onto Dunlop blu sport now. Excellent grip off these.

Font tyres just replaced Goodyear efficient grips after 35,000 miles

Rear tyres have done 45,000 and still lots of tread left.

Octavia 1.6 Tdi Auto.

Michelin energy savers all round on my Octavia. Swapped the fronts and rears after 20,000 miles. They've now done 43,000 miles and they are still ok.
