Replace or repair?

Featured Replies

Got a dent in a rear door (thanks whoever in Rugeley)

repair £330 inc vat invoiced or £200 cash

how hard to swap a door if i find a good one in candy white?

Even if you can find one in your exact colour you then have all the hassle of swapping it over and disposing of the old one. For that cash money it us a no brainer £200 it would be.

I did spend £100 cash to get the my door dent filled and repainted and a very good job they did.

would dent master or a company like that be able to remove the dent without painting

€200 cash doesn't sound bad although I agree with Skippy if it is something that could be fixed with a similar company as it can be a really slick job with minimal fuss.  Any pics of the dent?  Also, no two colours are the same i.e. there are very slight variations from one car to the next due to wear, sunlight damage etc and a replacement door might not quite match.  Whites tend to go a bit yellow/off white over time as well.

Repair !!

If you pay someone to repair this and you are unhappy you have redress, maybe less so for cash but you still have a face to remonstrate with after all you won't be paying upfront.

Buy a replacement door and when fitted you are unhappy without a part respray you are going to have to live with it?
