Door lights?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I'm sure I recall seeing this somewhere but I've noticed that my door lights (puddle) aren't illuminating when I open the doors.

I presume that this is because they're not lights but just reflectors?

Cheers

Just reflectors on the SE.

on my19 SEL Octavia the red "oblong" door reflectors DO NOT light up, but the folding door mirrors DO "puddle" light up, according to my dealer this is the correct specification ? might ? flick off the reflector to see if there is any wiring inside the door,, or not !

Škoda do not fit wiring looms where they are not going to a part.

You need to wire them directly to the door controllers in each door (then code the car to tell them they are fitted)

Another "penny pinching" exercise from Skoda....again then ? Thanks for info Gizmo !

Not just Skoda, this applies across the whole VAG group - if the option isn't fitted to a particular car then the wiring in the vast majority of situations won't be there (the only notable exception is that cars delivered to the US have the wiring and antenna fitted for the US specific satellite radio receivers).

My 15 Plate Elegance has lights, which I have replaced with the white Kopacek ones that also show 'Octavia' on the ground (BTW they are VERY bright) - I would have preferred red ones but don't want to show 'vRS' when it's an Elegance B)
