Distance (pitch) between OE number plate screw holes?

Featured Replies

Before I rip off the monster number plates that the dealer fitted, complete with his integral web link logo, I need to know if short plates will cover the original threaded holes in the front and rear bumpers when I stick them on.

Anyone out there using standard screws into the bumper fixings who can measure the pitch?

I'm trying to avoid a trip to the nearest dealer's back yard to take a look at a newly delivered vehicle just to measure up the number plate mounting holes.

On mine...

Front, 15.1/4" between centres.

Rear, 10.3/4" between centres.

There's only fixed mounting holes on the rear so front will vary depending on where they stuck the self tappers

My memory tells me that most of the new cars I've seen in dealer yards have front bumper fixing holes in addition to rear fixings, or at least indents in the plastic where the screws might be fitted.

I detest bumper screws.

Thanks for that.

My 13" rear plate will be OK, but I'm beaten with the front one.

Will have to stay with a full length front plate to hide the OE Skoda bumper fixings.

My car only had OEM fixings on the rear. Front bumper has self tappers.

The curve on the front bumper makes sticky pads unreliable as they are liable fail in the summer heat even in in the north of Scotland.

I have no problems with sticky pads on the front or the rear
