1.2 htp 70hp oil leak

Hey guys ive discovered oil in and around my sump just want to know if any of yous out there have had same problem and what the problem was its from the sump and.the the edge of gearbox gearbox is dry and higher up engine is dry

Well, I'm glad you have oil in your sump, there'd be a problem if you didn't have any in there! Is the car under warranty at this stage? If so get it to your dealer for diagnosis and remedy. If not under warranty you need to find the source of the leak. Where exactly is the main area of leakage? Is it the front of the engine or rear? Is it coming from where the gearbox joins the engine unit or the other end of the engine area? It's either going to be a leaking sump gasket, or failing crankshaft seal. I take it nothing leaking from the oil filter area and running down the engine? You could just check to make sure all the sump bolts are present and feel firm when you put a spanner on them as if to tighten them.

The sump drain bolt might be crossthreaded and leaking.
