Diesel cleaner

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a good diesel cleaner there's so many out there anyone got recommendations please?

I've used two different ones, BG244 and Archoil 6400-D both available from Power Enhancer. (Archoil has 25% off using SANTA25 promotion code and everything else 20% off with SANTA20 )

BG244 I first used on my old Mondeo that took 3 attempts to pass the smoke test on it MOT with a reading of 2.96, fail is 3.00. I was recommended the BG244 on the ST Drivers forum and used the treatment annually at the same as I serviced the car and it flew through it smoke test going down to a reading of 0.14. The car was more responsive and ran a lot smoother, still does too as a mate bought it from me. The MPG also increased and this is on Tesco's finest fuel not premium.

I've also used it on the wife's BMW 120d which was a big sluggish when we got it. After one treatment it was much more responsive and quieter too. I now use Archoil 6400-D over BG244 as I can buy it in 5ltr bulk containers which saves me money but stills does the same job. My brother has used the Archoil 6400-D in his new to him 2010 Octavia VRS which was sluggish and rough on start up and couldn't believe the difference it made.

It's simply to use. Just add the contents to a near empty tank before filling up, then just try to make the tank last as long as possible to give it time to work. When you get down a 1/4 tank refill and drive normally. Making the tank last long is the hard part as the cleaner boosts the cetane rating of the fuel which makes the car feel a lot more powerful and it's very tempting to make use of it.

No doubt there will be the doubters along soon calling it snake oil but I can assure you they won't have used any of these products.

I use redex. The 1 liter bottle. I just shove the hole lot in with out any problems.

Another one for Archoil, it's good stuff.
