vRS remap -v- 4x4 remap

Featured Replies

I've just looked on Jabba's website. According to them for the same price they will take your 4x4 from 150bhp to the top 220-230. So I

yup and the breaks would fade on standard power so they aren't good enough to start with, either that or i'm driving it too hard :D

What 0-60 times do you get Bengie? how much to upgrade the brakes?

doEboy - take a look at www.philgooch.com/video the white car launching off the line is bengie's 4x4. I wish I'd been a little more patient and waited for a suitable 4x4 :(

A map wont hurt a 4x4, Ivehad one from virtually nes (ex demo 600 miles), It was mapped by jabba at 8000 miles has done 3 cannonballs, & prior to raising the bhp via other mods to 250 I didnt even loose the clutch.

The std Internals will take about 340 bhp safely so the map to 225 ish is a walk in the parK for the Engine, its the best value for money mod you can do & the car will cope with it.

For brake upgrades trawl through the site, their have been loads of posts. the std brakes arent that bad, decent pads say ferrodo DS2500 & decent fluid will help a lot. Brake fade is normally caused when the fluid fails when too hot.

To go much bigger on the brakes you will need 17" wheels to fit them in

vRS/TT 312mm brakes will fit behind 16's but for anything bigger like Brembo, AP and the upgrades that Godspeed offer you'll need at least 17's as Stuart has said.

I have to say that while the vRS looks great I would rather have a wolf in sheep

off the mark yes but not in the long run due to the longer gearing off the FWD cars

sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead, but been offered a really nice 1.8t 4x4 octavia, so has anybody had the jabba sport re-map done on a 4x4??

cheers

Mine was revo'd and is fine except for eating the clutch almost straight away, relieving me of about

Yes. :D
Yes. :D

ok so how did you find the results?? and hows the fuel consumption after the re-map.

I had the ECU Evolution postal remap, and I love my car. Remap is the best cost mod you can do, but going back to what Bengie said 3 years ago, the brakes on the 4x4 could be better (either upgrade to the VRS 312mm plus good pads or just go for fluid and very good pads) but be warned, once you start there is no going back!!! (see sig for details)

all I cared about was it being quicker than an 06 plate 2.0T A4 Cabriolet, and it is!:rofl:

I can honestly say that I dont care about the fuel consumption :D:D:D LPG at 46p at the moment but I will go for a sensible drive one day (next year maybe?) and work it out.

drive it sensibly and mpg won't be affected, could even be improved but you do need to drive it like a saint to do that.
