Featured Replies

Hi guys

Go to see a skoda scout on monday 57 plate . 150k immaculate in and out.

The guy im buying off sent me these messages tonight , please read them and tell me if this is going to be a big fix or if i should be concerned..

Hi my wife reminded me of a small issue with the car I'd forgotten about. In the morning when it's cold if she sets of straight away it stalls then goes again. If she lets it warm up just for a minute it doesn't do it. We took it to vw specialist but they couldn't do anything as the car is not showing any fault code. It's only when stone cold - rest of time it's perfect. Sorry I'd forgotten about this - it's because I don't drive the car much. Cheers. (Name withheld)

Hi car always starts perfectly. If you then set straight off when cold it cuts out momentarily and then gets going again you don't need to restart it. It's almost like a flat spot on a petrol engine. If left idling for a minute it doesn't do it at all. Local vw specialists couldn't find anything wrong and no fault code. I'll try doing what you suggest. It never does it other than from stone cold. Cheers.

On the coldest mornings recently minus 10 still starts instantly so I dont think it's the glow plugs

Thankyou in advance

Steve

Sounds like a leak in the fuel supply line causing a small amount of air to creep into the system overnight when things cool down.

Could just be a hose clip needing a nip up.

least he's being honest about the car.
