Is Bosch Oxygen sensor for precat good?

Featured Replies

TL Darby VW have quoted me £137 for precat lambda sensor.  I have seen genuine bosch sensors on ebay ranging in price from £50 to £70.  Are these good sensors or have I got to go to the dealer?  I know sometimes dealer prices are quite inflated.    I'm not sure what brand of sensor the car uses from factory?

This is the one i`ve seen on ebay.

I have the 1.8T AUQ engine.

That one appears to be unsuitable. With only 4 wires, that must be a 'normal' probe rather than the 5-wire wideband type I think you need, according to this page (scroll down the table looking for the item 12 which lists your engine code). Putting that 1K0998262D part number into an ebay search shows results with five wires. Check the one on your car to confirm.

A bit late... lol. Didn't think anyone was going to reply so bought it anyway and fitted it. Works fine. Car idles smoothly and feels normal. Looks identical to the one I took off. :)

Ahh i can see where your looking on the pic now. Yes there are only 4 pins on the connector but 5 wires go to the sensor.
