hope am posting in right place?   bought a octavia  03 reg car was runing fine turbo blow up on it smoke the lot out the exhust wwithin 2mins engine conked  wudnt start aff the key batt went flat ... got it towed bump started it  again plenty smoke out exhust took key out ignition engine re up to like 2and half thousand revs put it in 5th geat to stall engine it done that .next day checked engine oil b4r tempting to start it noticed it was dry  ... got turbo replaced an sine then engine rocking like it working on one clyinder  cud that be engine broke or timing jumped when bumpe started it in 5th gear doing about 35 to 40mph ?? any help wud be great folks cheers 

If you've had a runaway, you could have bent valves, which would make it run like a bag of spanners.

 

I don't think you've had valve to piston contact though, because that's likely to break the camshaft, which will probably stop it running at all.

 

I'd try getting a compression test, but take note that you will put a petrol engine compression tester into orbit if you try using it on a TDi!
