auto electrician been on car and still wont start

Featured Replies

so had major issues as i have posted about before... car wont start from cold starts when warm...

changed crank sensor, put new heater plugs on, and put a new relay in..

its all been checked over and basically theres nothing telling the heater plugs to warm up so wont fore from cold...

codes coming up are speed sensor and open circuit relay...

changes both and still no joy...

cant handle this anymore had it on vag com and now had an auto electrician on it and still no closer

vag com gave 16705 - p0321 speed sensor implausable...

undo the crank plug and it says no signal so its reading.. im lost any help which i may have missed would be appreciated

"$component - implausible value" is VAG for "this bit is FUBAR but still returning values inside the programmed range, just not ones we'd expect right now". For instance, if you haven't started the engine and the engine speed sensor says it's doing 4_000rpm.

i have changed it tho ???? just getting no readings off glow plugs so not warming up

It should start with shot glow plugs, even it's a bit smokey on startup.

no mate wont start first thing in morning then once warm it fires fine... glow plugs are new and new relay.. but still no signal to glow plugs.... got me stumped tbh

Try the CTS then, and since you've got VCDS look at the values, not just for fault codes.

CTS? had values ran today and still gives no ideas

Coolant Temperature Sensor, and you're looking for temperature values away from ambient engine off, or otherwise silly, like on a hot engine gauge says 90C and EMS is being told -10C for example.

cheers bud will slap it on vcds tomorrow and check that

My octivia run around pop's farts and makes lots of smoke when it started and the engine is cold! The other octivia ( the work car) doesent have that problem.

I'll bet the personal car has worn-out glow plugs. Mine does, and has never failed to proceed except once when the battery died.

I wouldnt be surprised Ken!
