Hazard Warning Lights won't go off....!

Yesterday my Fabia 1.9 tdi 2005 started random hazard warning light while driving along, got worse and wouldn't go off.

Had to remove the indicator fuse, so no indicators, no dash light, no central locking.

Any thoughts on the hazards? Could it be the hazard light unit?

any advice gratefully recieved.
