Instrument cluster change in mk2 FL octavia

Featured Replies

I have searched the forums for this but I haven't been able to find an answer that I understand - that is likely to be my fault rather than the fault of the forums!!

I have got a used maxi dot instrument cluster from a breaker and I want to fit in my MY12 Octavia.

From what I have read it appears that if I may not be able to use the procedure described by RossTech whereby you get the SKC using something like VAGTacho and then recode the replacement cluster using VAGcom. I am making this assumption because I believe my model has a Version 4 immobiliser and the procedure described in RossTech is for immobiliser version 3 (and possibly earlier).

I would appreciate advice on how I should go about the cluster change please. I am getting a vcds cable so I should be able to do the vcds parts myself but I would like to how how to get the SKCs and if I do get them whether it will be possible to recode the replacement cluster with vcds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You CAN@T use VCDS to do a cluster swop with the SKC

Immo block has more than just SKC

You need expensive tools

I know someone in Ireland who can do it, If you want I will ask him for his details and PM you
