According to the Daily Fail, any brand new cars that are not "zero-emissions" will no longer qualify for free or cheap Road Tax from April 1st.

Even cars now considered green will pay £140 annually.

Old cars stay on the old VED sysytem. So thats just the £30 a year for me then - :whew:

For 66 plates or older or March 2017's but there are nice cars coming out that are going to need registering after April.

Ones that might even save more than £140 in fuel to pay for the VED every year.

People might just want nice new cars that they need to wait a bit for.

Skoda Kodiaq as an example or a Face Lift Octavia.

2022 going to be a good year for used V8s when they drop to £140 a year.

Yeah I read there's a rush to buy £0 -£30 road tax new cars before April.

Will create artificially good sales for the 1st quarter.

Theees also a penalty for cars over about 30k I believe.

Zero emissions is a term that should be banned imho. What about the emissions of making the things for a start let alone the generation of the fuel.

Is this in addition to the £40,000 band in the legislation?
