Hi all,

I am making progress with the Fabia, have cured the water ingress and almost sorted the central locking etc issue -  changed the drivers door lock unit and have got full central locking )Yay) but after just 2 days its taken half a step backwards in that the courtesy light will not go off (unless manually switching it all off at the roof switch) so I figure microswitches again ? I will manage as is for now but plan to replace again, and spotted these on eBay

Anyone got any thoughts or experience of these?

Also I have no radio reception to speak of, very very poor FM but no AM at all, I am told the aerial bases are suspect, Skoda want £52 for a new aerial assembly - which for an older car of low value is not happening - so I wondered if one of these

or

each with suitable connection adaptors and a separate positive feed would do the trick ? If this would work can I ask is there an obvious 12v live at the rear that I could spur off ?

I appreciate any and all help, and if anyone has got either of these items in good working order for sale than don't be shy, just let me know ok ?

Yes, don't buy it, they are crap and will most likely not work correctly. You need a proper Skoda one.

What did you change it with to begin with?

A used genuine Skoda unit, I cannot justify £150+ for a new one from Skoda so looking at other options. Thanks for the feedback though.

You can buy just the microswitches for the interior light on ebay to fit to your existing lock unit.  I will get the part numbers for you....

Thanks very much mate, how big a job are they to fit do you know?

Also any idea on the aerial base question anyone please?

Unfortunately you have to remove the lock unit. There is a metal clip holding the switch to the outside of the lock unit. Cut the two wires off the old switch and join the new ones by soldering or whatever way you want. Try to make sure water can't get into the joints.

Cut these wires leaving enough to connect new switch to...
