Fitting Auto Changer In Estate

Featured Replies

I have just bought a V reg Octavia Estate and I am trying to figure out where to fit my Sony cdx-646 changer.

I am looking at fitting it in the side compartments in the boot but it looks a little sparse in terms of mounting points. Does any one have any advice on how to do this? Or does anyone have any other suggestions for mounting sites.

I would prefer to not put it in the boot proper as I regularly chuck wet kayaking kit in the back of my car.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

the original cd changer is bolted (via the two bumper side retaining nuts) to the n/s/r wing (with a bracket of course)

In my previous Octy estate had the autochanger fitted in the left rear cubby......out of sight and doesn't get bashed by anything you have in the boot.

Mine fits under the boot carpet in one of the cut-outs in the polystyrene trays underneath. Snug enough fit that it doesn't need to be mounted properly...

Worth a try anyway... :)

:( - no cutouts for me under there... I had to go for the "screw the bu99er" to the side of the boot wall... - (amp not changer, BTW) which means I have to be careful when transporting stuff in the boot - I'm using the rear seats and floor area a lot more now these days.

Welcome to the site too. - I just noticed it was your post #1.

aaah the benefit of the octy plenty of placed to conceal things.... hmmm any one up for a booze cruise? :D
