Light Switch Removal

Featured Replies

The light switch for some reason doesn't always light up.

Is there an easy way of removing so I can see if there is something loose or are they a sealed unit?

We're talking about the headlight switch yes?

Assuming this is the same

Sorry yes that the one. Thanks for the link.

put the switch to 0 and then push into the dash and turn clockwise so the lever is inbetween 0 and sidelights. That should release the switch.

You need a switch and module if you are upgrading... The switch is just that, the module is the thing that does the auto stuff, along with its sensor, to detect ambient light. The switch you show also only has provision for rear fogs... Unless you are capable of adding fronts and wiring it, you will need a matching switch otherwise it will show the function but won't do the function.

So I bet the module is the box that clips onto this? Or is this all I need? Its all new to me, front fogs I will fit later as want montecarlo tinted ones cheers

Actually, yeah. This is a later generation version which has the sensor etc incorporated into it. Make sure your switch has this larger connection too. Some have larger ones, some have smaller ones. This switch will almost certainly light up red, too as opposed to Skoda green as it is actually made for VW's that have red illumination. It is also set for front and rear foggies!

Cheers

Sorted easy to remove as said and new upgrade ordered for larger rear connector on 14 estate

Same as older version. I thought they started to fit smaller ones but it may be a slow change over. VW do seem to like getting their money's worth. I am surprised McDonalds has not cited them on their saver menu adverts!
