Fabia mk1 how to spot a 101 engine??

Featured Replies

Hi guys, greetings from Denmark!

Im going to look on a Fabia  1.4 16v ..tomorrow, its sats its a 101 HP on the registration papers, but how can i be 100℅ sure, it might been chance to a 75 once..

What engine code is the 100/101 bhp engines and where do i spot it?

Engine code will be AUB or BBZ if it's a 101. The code will be in either a sticker in the owners manual/ service book or look under the boot carpet. There will be a sticker there with the engine and gearbox code. If the code is APE, AUA, BBY or BKY that is for the 74hp engine (BUD if a 2006-2007 model)

Awesome! But isnt there anything on the engine itself?

I might think they changed the engine at some point?

The barcode sticker on the cambelt cover?

As said above AUB or BBZ are what you're looking for.

101 has alloy sump where the 75 has a steel one, 75 has a much smaller throttle body too so lift the airfilter housing off the top of the engine.

mostly the 75 engines are bolted to an autobox tho not seen many manual ones.
