As I've mentioned in my welcome post I'm after a cheap Runabout to commute to work on a daily basis.

I have found two which I'm interested in.

One is a classic with 130k no service hx 

And the other is a saloon with 160k FSH recent gearbox, water pump,timing belt.

I'm urging to go with the saloon ATM but there is not much about spec wise.

I know the classic is bare would like air-conditioning for the summer etc.

 Try to look up gearbox issues on the SDI, may not be a real problem but have occasionally seem postings on this. Know that the Octavia SDI had issues. May be worth checking if the "recent gearbox" is recon or 2nd hand. Even Classics can have air-con but may be year dependant. If you have the registration numbers may be worth looking at MOT history as this can indicate the maintenance being carried out - no failures could mean well maintained.
