Audience v Stream

Featured Replies

I

I’m just wondering whats the differences between the Audience and Stream radios. I was thinking today if it would be worth while to have the Audience as it can play MP3’s. Is there any other benefits to changing ?

Regarding the playing of MP3’s' date=' does it

A.) show the name of the song on the screen

B.) is it possible to have folders with songs in each, e.g. different album folders.

I dunno if it’s possible to get it now as the car is being built or how much it would cost but I thought I’d see if it would be worth it.

Btw I know theres a stereo upgrade upgrade available here for about 500 Euro but I don’t think its worth it. I just thought that it might not be that expensive to upgrade just the stereo.[/quote']

A.) No i don't think so

B.) Dunno but probably just 1 directory level if at all.

Any other reasons you might consider consider changing ?

Hi Gaff,

do they have an Aux-in to allow you plug in an MP3 player directly? or does it just read MP3 files on a CD

Aux-in would be my preference as you can buy a decent player and have all your music in one place...

Seemingly the Audience plays MP3's from CD's. My original plan was to go MP3 player route connected to Stream, then yesterday I just got thinking about maybe going Audience route due to it playing MP3 CD's but I think I'm back to the first option again :) .

The reason I though maybe about going the Audience route was that I don't mind putting in discs in head unit but if the MP3's could be put onto the disc it would be good, but only if the song names came up and it wasn't too expensive. To be honest I don't do enough driving to need tooooo much music as it'll never get listened to.

wrt external MP3 play I just thought with cables and having to connect and disconnect MP3 player it might be too much hassle :)

@ fivepint - could you look into some prices for me, you mentioned it before :)

Yes

Yes.

Depending on the bulid date it is also possible to get the order changed. I managed to get it done with mine.

Points noted Roo, i didn't think it was that advanced but there you go.

Shouldn't be a prob for Gaff to upgrade as he's not going for the speaker upgrade, just the HU so it plugs into the same loom.

Does the Audience actually show the name of the folders so you can scan through them ?

For some reason I was under the assumption the Upgrade stereo & speakers were around the 500 Euro mark, I just rang and the Audience is 511 Euro to upgrade and the Audience & Speaker upgrade is around the 1000 Euro mark.

I think I'll keep the stream :)

No, it just lists them numerically.

well Skoda UK are saying

1) a cable for the aux in port is due in Jan 2006

2) there is no aux in port on the stream

3) we're not sure but there may be some 3rd party cables that you could use

4) There is no way you can use the aux in port (although yes we think it IS there)

the answer you get depends on what day of the week you phone them.
