automatic transmission fluid

Featured Replies

hello there

I own a skoda octavia mk1  year 2003 with automatic transmission

I bought it in 2010 and since then I´ve driven 75.000 km and I have never changed the automatic transmission fluid

should I change it

or should I just let the next owner do it since I´m trying to sell it?

They say it costs about 140$ where I live  and I only get about 3.300$ for the car

best regards from Iceland

Well, if that's what they say it costs, then that's what you can expect potential buyers to use in negotiating the price down.

If you can stand the smell of the stuff, I'd consider changing it - especially if you can feel it in the way the car drives.

well I´m just wondering if It´s alright to skip it since I´m going to sell the car

Nothing stopping you from skipping it, but it may be a point of price debate, or something you ought to disclose to buyers in case they come back and argue about the accuracy of the description - In some countries that can be grounds for legal action.
