Fabia 1.4 16v 100bhp rally car

Featured Replies

Hi lads, have a 2006 1.4 16v 100bhp Fabia rally car which I have built from ground up. Basically I'm looking for as much help possible, I need to upgrade my power in this engine, currently running standard ecu and fuel system etc only mods is induction filter, Škoda Motorsport exhaust manifold and custom 2.5 inch straight back exhaust.

what mods have people done to this engine e.g. Camshafts, injectors, valves etc..

Kent cams can uprate cams for me but I only have spare 75bhp engines, has anyone tried camshafts from this engine on a 100bhp?

OR has anyone put cams from a 1.6 16v 115bhp in a 100bhp?

You can't use regrinds on this engine, Kent are retarded, try Catcams or Schrick, both can do profiles for you from chill cast blanks, bear in mind it's hydraulic roller rocker valve gear so you can't go crazy.

Best bang for your buck will be ITB's from a motorcycle (600/750) and a standalone ECU. You can fit bigger inlet valves and increase compression slightly with forged pistons and rods, all that will probably get you to ~150 BHP, at 7500 RPM, not anywhere near as good as an XE I'm afraid but the head ain't in the same league.

Thanks for the info! I'll try them for cams, Kent cams wanted a spare set of cams sent over to measure and if possible upgrade them but all I have are 75bhp engines I'm guessing the cams are different, what do you mean by a XE?

Yes the cams are radically different in terms of profile between the 75 and the 100, the journal sizes and blank dimensions are all the same though:

itb's and a stand alone engine managemnt system (I recommend omex) will get you the best results, gear ratio's can be swapped about easily too think we used 3rd and 4th from a 1.2  along with it's final drive in our endurance car. cg motorsport did us a clutch .
