Pirelli P Zero Nero

Featured Replies

I'm sure there's probably different versions of these, but the 2 cars I've bought new have come fitted with them from the factory and I can't stand them. I know they're classed as a premium tyre etc but from my own personal experience they're noisy, don't grip at all well in the wet (or dry for that matter), wear quickly and are a lot less economical than other tyres, both in terms of the cars fuel economy with them on and the cost of buying them.

I've had them in the 205/40/17's that the Fabia vRS comes in, and now they're on my new car in 235/35/19's. found them to perform the same on both cars.

When the current ones wear out I won't even consider the Pirelli's again unless they're going for less than £50 a corner.

Is it just me that has bad experience of them? On my Skoda I also had Hankooks and Goodyears, both of which were a lot better in just about everyway.

Maybe the pirellis need to be pushed to show where they're good, but for day to day driving they're not for me.

They're usually found propping up the "European brands" section of tyre tests, so it's not just you.

I remember putting a set of nero's on a volvo i had a few years back,

Never a fecking again they must be the worst tyres i have ever had,

Not a big pirelli fan apart from there M+S suv tyres,

Pirelli Zero Nero are the Tyres that Skoda UK, VW UK & SEAT UK approve for fitting under Warranty because dealerships can not correctly align the suspension when owners / drivers report 'Pulling to the left' in the UK.

Reason being the Alignment / suspension/ set up from the factory is not corrected but that harder sidewall tyres disguise the fault which the Dunlops or Continentals the factory fitted was showing up.

The Pirelli Zero Nero do stand up to some abuse from pot holes and the likes but then you have the squitery handling and poor traction in the wet or cold to put up with. Crap tyres really.

I don't understand why they're classed as premium tyres and have the price tag to match. I'm sure Pirelli do make some good tyres, but the 2 sets of P Zero Nero's I've had haven't been good. Very average at best.
