Wax & polish

Featured Replies

Hey...

Just the other day I got my car done up for free, because next to us is a spray shop/rust proof shop that does their spray work OUTSIDE, and as a result, the wind during the day carried all the nice spray particles (white in colour) onto my car. You couldn't notice from a distance, or even close, but only real close, and rubbing your hand on the body just gave you tingles because it was rough.

So I went and bought myself 'Armor All Wax & Polish' today, and I plan to give my a car a good cleaning on Friday.

Now how do you apply this formula?? I know the car must be clean when doing this, but do I apply it on to a dry towel or something and gently 'wax on, wax off'? Don't wanna make a mistake doing it, so any advice appreciated greatly!

You need a claybar Mil. That will lift the particles off without touching the paint, but you will need to polish after to put some protection back on. I've used the Meguiars one, but some one on here does them aswell

spray work OUTSIDE,

bizzare thing to do out side, thought it needed to be done inside really to stop the paint getting comtaminated...

The municipality won't let them build a shed around that area, so they have no choice but to spray outside.

vrsfab, i forgot to mention that i took it to them and told them to remove the white stuff, which they did, but now the paintwork is kinda dullish, which i wanna rectify.

They must have used pretty hard cleaners to get all that white stuff off. Is it just me, but I would have taken my car to the professional carfixer and have it properly vaxed and made that neighbour company pay the bills.

I would be getting it fixed at a proper paint shop and sending them the bill also.

Sounds like they may have stripped off either a top coat, or prehaps the wax coat.

Either way get a second opinion from a reputable paintshop elsewhere.
