2010 Petrol VRS Problem

Featured Replies

Ok I am going to try and describe this as best I can so her goes. Last night I was driving quite happily on my way home from work when suddenly engine management light and epc lights flash on and my car loses all power and sound lumpy as hell. I stopped in the next layby a short distance later and turned her off. At this point I also noticed a strong smell of petrol. After waiting a few minutes I tried to start her up again however she just turns over and does not fire up.

This morning I got her in to my local Indy who I have used for years. He plugged his diagnostic kit in and came back with intermittent missfire in cylinder 1 caused by faulty coil pack. He then changed all 4 along with 4 new spark plugs. The car then drove fine for about half an hour before doing the same thing again. As it was now daylight also noticed a lot of blue smoke from the exhaust. When it was plugged in again no fault codes showed up.

If if anyone has any ideas on this or experienced similar problems then I would really appreciate your replies.

Many thanks

Hi, blue smoke is a good sign of oil issues. Valve seals, hg fail and pistons are main culprits, someone please correct me if im wrong. But sluggish engine and no running might also push towards your turbo....fair few possibilities

Turbo checked and fine also compression test hot and cold all fine. Had all four coil packs and plugs replaced, drove fine for half an hour then the same thing again. Had an Audi master technician suggest injector problem so he is going to take a look for me tomorrow. Fingers crossed

Finally picked up my car after this problem which turned out to be a knackered injector. All good now and fingers crossed she stays that way for a while at least
