Bolero MIB 1 or 2

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a Skoda Octavia VRS mk3 May 2015 model. I have a Bolero system but not sure what one. MIB 1 or 2?? can anyone advise me on what one I have please? im trying to find a link so that I can update the software. Skoda website says there isn't one but threads on here seem to say different?

That is a MIB1, there are no official updates for it, but there is a link in here floating around for an update you can perform yourself.

If you don't want Skoda to complain, you need VCDS or OBDeleven to remove the errors and validate the update after.

Personally, I did not notice much change from all the updates, except for the loss of the status Bluetooth icon when a device is paired.

Sound might be negligibly better and response time in operation also.

Hi Jaco, do you know the date or MY when the MIB1 changed to MIB2, or is it obvious from the face panel?

Additional query

Hi, I have the November 15 vRS and mine is MIB2, I cant see any difference to what I have by looking at you photo so I am not sure how to tell the difference, maybe it is the loss of the CD slot in the glovebox, mine just has the SD card slot. Another post on here says anything after May 2015 was MIB2.

It was MY16, which started for cars built in week 22 (end of May) 2015. You can also tell from the panel, as the screen size increased for Bolero and Amundsen.
