I thought I'd share some pics from our recent trip. Linking from Facebook so hopefully the links will stick.

 

Our hols didn't exactly go to plan, it rained, a lot, which we mostly skirted around, but the day we set off South from the top of the South Island, every road was closed. There are three roads South and two East/West and they were all closed due to floods, land slips, fallen trees, and the kaikoura earthquakes. I don't thinkthe father-in-law believed me when I told him there wasn't another route. 

 

We ended up cancelling one motel, and adding about 400km to the trip to get back on track, then re-booking the rest of the accommodation as we went. It all worked out well though in the end.

Didn't see too many Skodas, and I don't own one any more :(

I was really impressed with how well our Premacy/Mazda5 performed with 4 adults, one child and luggage on board.

It is a stunning place, and the South Island is amazing. We only got about halfway down in our 2250km 10 day trip. I really want about six months and an unlimited budget to do it properly
And my Audi quattro to drive of course.

 

Next February ( 2018 ) Mrs G and I are planning a trip to Oz, we are also thinking of watching a T20 Cricket game in Wellington  NZ ( 14th Feb ) We are really into Cricket so if you fancy an Internation Briskoda meet we'll see what we can do.............
