Single day insurance after just passing test

Featured Replies

Stupidly as an incentive to my best mate to pass his test I said to him that i would give him a shot of my Monte when we go to donington next month for the btcc. (It's a motorway all the way and it has cruise control so all he has to do is steer what could go wrong? :D )

well today he went and pasted and ive been looking at single day insurance companies and they all seem to a min of 6 months driving?

Does anyone know any companies that will do it for less?

I would expect there must be someone as if you pass your test and you want to test drive a car privately you'll need to find cover?

Well, there is the slightly dubious way of buying a normal policy (most likely one that comes in monthly instalments to minimise upfront costs) then terminating it under the 14 days law. It will still likely be eye-wateringly expensive and if anything happens expect to have to pay the policy off in full.

What about adding him as a named driver on your own policy?

Think I've changed my mind now!

He got his first car yesterday and I went over to see it and he wanted to take me out in a run in it.

First thing he he did was reverse into the front of my Monte!

Oh my... Is the damage bad? :(

Well at least you can void the offer of letting him drive it now :)

Broken number plate and a couple of cracked plastic bits out of sight behind the bumper that's all, he bought me a new plate straight away lol.

Not a mark on his though!
