Featured Replies

Hi all,

Been looking at these for awhile as now my car is on 40k I can see the egr valve failing.

has anyone got any experience or even seen these before ? If fitted il blank off the egr too so it isn't working at all. Other option is remove it and then get it mapped out but this is cheaper.

any comments or feedback would be great.

Thanks

Richard

For not much more you could have it removed from the ECU.

it should then remain in the in the closed position with no need to remove it. I know plenty of people that have had it done.

I've already had it remapped by Superchips, surely would have to go and ask if they can just remove it from ECU. Or is there a way to just tweet their software.

Any decent remapping company will be able to remove the EGR function in the ECU.

First how old is your car as you may have the revised EGR so failure at least less likely for a while?

If the seals fail you will still need the EGR removed or at least the coolant pipes removed and either joined or blanked as appropriate for continued correct coolant flow if this be done with significantly less dismantling.

Since this will be obvious how would it affect inspection of the emissions system as now a part of the MOT test?

Likewise the eBay gizmo would be visible where as remapping and the subtle blanking plate would not.

December 2013 it was registered but it's a 2014 Chassis, think il have a word with Superchips as i haven't had the Cheat update yet so il see what happens first. Either that or just deal with it when it happens.

Thanks all, was in the know abit when I was in skoda but now back at Mercedes literally don't hear a thing anymore.
