Getting the info displays back on a retro pre-fl Bolero??

Featured Replies

Just had a raid down the scrappy this morning and thought I'd check summat before I plug it in and blow it all up!

Had on-screen parking sensor & heater displays with the original Audience h/u, but understandably lost these when I upgraded/retro fitted a Bolero. The octy down there was a fl '59 from which I've picked up the parking module from behind the carpetting, bolted onto the rear nearside wheelarch in the boot. If I swap it over, 1) is it a straight swap fit and, 2) will I get the display back on the bolero??

ALso picked up a climatronic for £20 and if I swap pins 20 & 16 as mentioned on various other threads, then change that over will it do the same thing and I'll get it all back??

Many thanks.

Climate yes as per other thread, but you will need to rewire the module into a different CAN circuit to get the parking sensors display back. Search "PDC OPS advice" for the thread with my write up.

Phew, got to page 4 and started to think sod that for a game of tennis!! :) If it was relatively straightforward then I'd do it, but that's more rewiring than I care for as well as the expense of CAN cable from the stealers and taking the trim of looks a ballache. Had just the beeps for years and only use them as a guide so that'll do me. Good writeup though fella, worth it if you have the time/patience to do it I guess.

Its not as bad as it reads but my head ached as much as my balls for a while. The display on the newer head unit is much better than the older one though and very much worth the effort in my humble.
