Bolero music cover art work

Featured Replies

Bought my first Skoda last September, Fabia 1200 pretrol, and loving it.

Copied my iTunes library onto an SD card for Bolero by dragging and dropping.  No problems there and all the music is available in the car.

I'm curious though as to why the cover art work for the various albums is showing in the car for only some of the albums.  The albums without the cover art work show as just a blank white rectangle which is a bit of a pain when you're swiping through to find a particular album and the cover pictuire isn't there.

Any ideas why only some of the cover art work has loaded onto the SD card when the cover art work was there on iTunes?

Album covers need to bi in id3.

I have had a similar problem and having looked at some of the albums this is happening with I have noticed that the resolution of the cover in some of those albums not showing up is larger, say 1000 by 1000 pixels that the ones where the cover is shown.

I have yet to try smaller covers and see if that fixes the problem.  Hopefully it will.

It's to large. Need to be 300x300 or something similar.

How do you change the resolution of the album cover picture?

As far as I know that only way is to remove the current image and replace with a smaller one.  I will be using MP3Tag to remove and replace and then paint.net to resize the images.

If anyone knows of a program that can resize within the mp3 file that would be great as I embed all of my cover images.

did anyone check what need to be maximu  pick size?

I use mp3tag software to add picks to tracks and still have problems with one album.

No i was jus drag&drop on existing one, will try with deleting first and then adding 500x500 (but i think i have some with higher resolution working also, need to check), haven't thought about thi  one, thanks!

If you are using mp3tag and picking a new album cover it gives you the option to keep  existing artwork

Please be patient with me guys, I'm not really into where you've taken this.

OK, so I downloaded MP3tag, (which I've never heard of), plugged my card into the PC and called the albums into MP3tag using 'change directory'.

All the albums whose cover pictures show in the car also show their cover pictures in the MP3tag window as well, but the albums which do not show their cover picture in the car do not show their cover picture in the MP3tag window either.

So where do I go from here?

Here's a pic of the net I badly edited on my phone so sorry about that

OK so highlight the track that has no artwork

And first of click the right of these to buttons and make sure it's set to Amazon .Com

If you already have the album name etc it should populate the text box and if you don't you can manually add it here

The next box pops up with Amazon's search results

Click on the album in question and a new window opens

If it's the entire album you have the arrange the tracks from the left box to the right box and click save

I am probably making it sound more complicated than it is but it's very easy.

I'll link you a quick start guide

WOW!!  Thank you so much malcster.  Done a couple of the abums with no cover pics and got them now.

Really looking forward to going through all the others now.

You've made an old git very happy

Glad to have helped

I made a right hash when I first started using mp3tag and changed all my track names BT not lining up the one or two tracks I ripped off an album

MP3Tag is a fantastic program I would be lost without while dealing with my MP3 and FLAC collection.

On the note about size I have found that I can use image sizes up to 800 by 800 and they show.  I have made all of the very large ones, some 2000 plus into 500 by 500 as there is no need for bigger.

Enjoy the music with the cover art!

I'm kind of working my way through what MP3tag does and it's opened up a whole new world.

While I was doing the album covers for the car I noticed that a couple of my classical albums had been published by several different companies, in one case by Deutsche Grammophon, Sony and Decca, and they each put the tracks in a different order and used a different cover picture so it got a bit confusing.  I also had to resize a couple down from 1400 x 1400 to 500 x 500.

Anyway, all done now.  No more blank rectagles on Bolero - many thanks for all your help and advice.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this post as I was already using MP3tag to get my music on the SD card but didn't understand you could get the album covers sorted with it as well, I now have a fully album covered music collection. The interface on these units (I have the Columbus) is really rahter smart and well impressed with .flac support :-)
