Hi Guys

 

Any thoughts on the following? The TV function in my car does not appear to be obtaining any signal. I have tried moving location by 30 odd miles but all I seem to get is the grey fuzzy screen at worst, along with the muted volume and no / weak signal symbols top left of the screen. At times a get the blank screen with muted volume signal but then it defaults to the above.

 

I have checked connections on both the hybrid TV unit in the boot and the unit in the dash, all seem OK. The car is the Combi so I assume from the forum that the reception is picked up from the rear side glass antenna. Would VAGCOM Or VCDS find any faults with either unit ?

grey fuzzy screen sounds like analogue. check all the settings on the unit and see if there is a dts / analogue choice  

Vcds will be able to retrieve a code if there is no comms from the tv tuner.

I seem to have sorted it, quite how I'm unsure. My default channel was Sky news but I decided to change to other preset channels in the unit, to start with I got the same grey fussy image with the no signal symbol still displayed. After a short while the picture & sound returned and works fine, except sky news that is !!

 

 

In the past I have found that they require a rescan in order to find the strongest channel list for every 25km of travel.
