I am going to be getting rid of the standard ICE asap and putting my own kit in questions I have (haven't got the car yet ) are

1:how many speakers does it have?

2.is there 6x9 space in the origianl speaker positions

3:are the mids of a normal size i.e not going to have a 'mare making adapters etc

4.does anyone have a boot install (a simple one) and if so could you post piccies please cheers in advance :cheers:

You're doing the right thing.

1. Eight. Four woofers (ha!) and four tweeters.

2. I don't think so. Most who have fitted 6x9's have adapted the rear parcel shelf.

3. Mids? Don't make me laugh. The fitted speakers are a standard size though. Search the ICE threads for fitting hints and recommendations.

4. If you mean a sub, speak to Jason (devonutopia)

1) two sets of components.

Front are 6.5" in the bottom of the door , tweeters by the top of the dash in the door.

Rear are 5" in the edge panels by the parcel shelf with tweeters in the door.

2) Nope , and if you are running a sub you shouldn't need 6*9's anyway.

3) standard size but fairly shallow depth in the front. There are a number of models that are known to fit ranging in price from 40 quid to 150.

Rears are much easier.

It sounds v nice so can't wait to get it put back in

Oops forgot in my last post is the octavia fairly solid when it comes to low powerful bass???? As the cerwin kicks and my last car had about ten tons of dynamat in it to stop vibrations :p and I cannot be bothered with that carry on again as I looked like a self harm victim from all the scratches I had

sounds good that is next on my list preceeded by alloys, exhaust, chip so about 2005 then
