haldex pump failure

Featured Replies

ive suspected for a while that the 4x4 wasn't working as t/c light was coming on too much to the stage that if I kept my foot down the front wheels would start to bounce a bit,and there was a thread on here some time ago which gave all the clues but as I haven't been off road much it was difficult to be sure,so car was booked in for 3yr service today and had asked when booking it in if this could be checked, after about an hour received a call saying tyres/treads were low would i like them to source new tyres,i explained that the car had its first MOT last week and were measured at 3.3mm and was a bit above the 1.6 legal limit, and that I  was more concerned about the haldex issue only to be told the tech had found no error codes and had given it a test drive with nothing detected.Within a couple of mins he called back to say an error HAD now  been found and a new haldex pump had been ordered and be fitted tomorrow,,,,,,,,,well the yeti almost reached 3 years with out a mechanical problem, thought it was too good to be true. so watch this space.

my update is that the repair completed ok and free of charge with just the service to pay, so my first yeti part failure in 3 years of ownership and replaced under warranty so not to bad so far.

Consider yourself lucky, I'd say.
