DPF light came on today.took car for a 30 minutes blast then light went off. Rhe car has had a few good runs over the last few weeks so don't know how it's on. But I have noticed the engine coolant fan has been running quite often over the last week or two. How often will this light come on now. 2013 Skoda fabia greenline 2. 

Is it worth having it removed as I'm most probably going to keep the car. 

It's against the law to have the DPF removed in the UK as it's a key part of the emissions. 

 

I had the light come on after I drove a weekend of short journeys (fabia 1.6tdi elegance) I just drove it down the motorway and it went out. Easy way of checking if the DPF is clearing is the idle sits around 900/1000. 

 

The manual states when the light comes on it just needs a good drive
