Gwilo - what spec is your machine?

Featured Replies

Mr Gwilo..... just wondered what spec your folding machine is?

"tiptronic" will soon push me out of the top 20 but I reckon once Its gonna be close between you and I.

Sorry chaps. :)

Have to say that you guys have done phenomally well with just 1 machine folding. I have 'secreted' the prgram on a number of machines at work, that are only on office hours Mon-Fri, and my machine at home occassionally gets to join in the effort. These machines tend to be under my control anyway, so I don't foresee

You can see from the number of work units you have done in relation to the number of points you have that you have been getting through more valuable units.

I have the large work unit option ticked, but still seem to get the silly little units.

Chris.

I ran 9 machines for a few months using similar stealth tactics to yourself. I got round the "office hours" problem by leaving my PC on then setting a wake-on-LAn to turn on all the other PC's at 9pm ;)

I've only got one machine now which, its a Xeon 3.2 GHz with 1Gb RAM. But it is on 24/7 and is hugely over-specced for what it does.

Once I've worked out hos to get the service working through our proxy it may find its way onto a few more machines ;)

not telling.

But i've got a 12500 frame work unit....currently on frame 4236..... should complete it sometime tomorrow.......

It is fairly simple, have a quick google for wake-on-lan or WOL command line thingmys.

I had a batch file that consisted of one line per PC, something like "C:\WOL.exe" followed by the MAC address of the target machine. A google search should find what you mean.

However, you'll nee dthe MAC address of the target machine and also the ability to get on the machine and enable WOL through the BIOS.

Once set up simply add a scheduled task on your PC to run the batch file at 9pm.
