New Yeti Drive has arrived!

Featured Replies

Well after ordering our Yeti Drive 2.1 DSG on 18th January, we took delivery yesterday March 15th, and WOW are we impressed. We chose the black pearl finish, and it came with all the extras that were listed in my previous post about the spec for the Drive model.

The car was shipped directly to Port  of Tyne which is close to where we live, and our dealers Silbury Skoda of Cramlington Newcastle,  had it through it's pre delivery, and ready for the road within a few days. They are a BRILLIANT independant dealership, and we feel we got a first class service from Justin and the team over there. The whole buying experience was friendly, non pressured and professional. Highly recommended.  Thanks guys!

We gave a lot of thought to buying this Skoda, knowing that the new model was coming, but its this shape that sells it for us.

Anyway, we are still exploring it, and will update as we go.

Only one mystery is a small switch to the rear right of the drivers seat on the side of the car, just about level with the seat back... What does it do? No mention of it in the handbook that we can see.  Anybody got an idea?

Also: Does anyone know of a GOOD COMPETENT Auto Electrician in the Gateshead /Newcastle area? I want to get a front camera fitted. I have the camera, but want to get it professionally fitted.

Thanks for any help.

You can use it to disable the internal sensors if you leave a dog in the car with the alarm on.

one quick press deactivates the interior ultrasonic movement sensor, handy with a dog or something that moves when you're not onboard!

Thanks guys......Eek....that could have been very embarrasing!! We have a dog, and although we haven't left him in the car yet...... Thanks :):)

Nice one Furry, any pics of your new Yeti mate ?

Another purpose is to silence the alarm when the unattended car is being legitimately disturbed, e.g. on a ferry.  In my Manual it's p37.  Enjoy!

You did it the other way round to me i.e. you found the switch and then found out what it's for. Our dog set the alarm off before I knew about the switch :blush. Fortunately my grandson was with me at the time and while I was scratching my head he'd had his phone out, googled it and told me where the switch was.

Had to use the similar switch in my wifes Fabia when we had a storm and the wind kept setting of the alarm

Enjoy your new Yeti. Have fun keeping her clean Black magic terrible B)

Thanks to all of you. Some good tips there. We tried the button this morning whilst at the supermarket as we had our dog in the car. All works fine, so thats good. Had to laugh at your post Longedge.... Sorry! That could easily have been us!

I'll get some photos out in the next couple of days, but we are very happy bunnies with this lovely motor.

When locking with the fob a second press within 2 seconds has the same effect as pressing the button on the B pillar.

Thanks fella. That's very helpful. :)

Photos now posted in the gallery. Enjoy.

Picked up my 1.2 TSI man SE-L Drive, Petrol Blue, from those nice people at Hortons Lincoln today. Special thanks to Paul Millar for getting me through the order door before it shut! Finally made the move as I do not like jelly mould cars. Kept my Honda CRV for 12 years and it was completely faultless, but having retired we no longer need a Diesel as we do not do the mileage. Felt good on the drive back to Derbyshire.
