Retrofitting of trunk electrics 6D - Basic setting

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm currently retrofitting the Electric tailgate.

Everything quite work fine except the fact that I'm not able to do basic settings.

Here is the error code I'm getting :

When I try to run basic settings, I have 2 different settings one for zero tilting angle, and one for adapting the heigh opening. Tried with VCDS and VCP, same result

When trying to run both, nothing is happening....

Please note that the opening and closing is working fine despite the error code, but the trunk isn't fully opened. But sometimes it doesn't open or doesn't close...

If anyone is having any idea on how to fix it?

Thanks,

Following!

I regret not ticking the electric tail gate option.

Was thinking I could simply fit the power tail gate struts, and recode using ODBEleven so that the tail gate button on the key controlled it.

Was also thinking the same for memory seats given the logic and buttons are all integrated into the seat but the dealer spins some story about why it can't be done.

In hindsight, for 5k more I wish I purchased the 4WD 206kw 2017 Superb, the FWD setup on these cars is terrible and the seats suck (but look cool at least)

Here what you have to do :

- Close manually the tailgate
- Start the basic setting
- Then open the tailgate (using the opening button or the key fob)
- Then press the closing button
- Then the basic settings is "finished"

Note : while the basic setting is being performed, a different tone is produced by the controller.

Enjoy !

I'm gonna try make some DIY tutorial for those who want to do the retrofit

Hello Masterprenium

can you share and tips on the retrofitting of the electric tailgate? I’m in the middle of sourcing parts for my Passat 2015 Estate. I’m sure it’s very similar.  I’ve found the two electric drive struts, boot switch, Control Unit module which is the same as yours but ends in E  not A. Wiring loom from Kufatec. I understand there is also a anti-pinch strip but I’m yet to find this. Do you install it? Not sure if it’s even needed?

Any information would be great. Thank you.

Old thread but does anyone have VCDS full scan about Octavia without electric tail gate? My fathers car other lift motor got broken and we changed normal gas springs there to be able to use trunk. Now the soft closing function which closes the trunk is not working and there is warning about open trunk on cockpit. Trunk is actually locked but car doesn't know it. I like to code that thing away so kind of retro remove...
