1.9 BXE TDi intake/alternator removal

Featured Replies

Morning guys,

I need to change the alternator on my BXE TDi. Had a look last night and i can't see how the front intake pipe comes off?? I'm assuming it will need unclipping from underneath? I can't see any connections looking down from the front...

Does anyone have a link to a guide on where the connections for the pipework are? The ones ive seen just say to remove the pipe work via spring clips, but doesn't say where they actually are....

Also, the threaded inserts on the alternator...can they only be pushed out from the body side of the alt, or pulled from the other side? after removing the alt bolts theres no movement so i assume the inserts go into the mount and need pushing out a bit?

The car is a 56' BXE with A/C.

Not done it myself, but looking at my Haynes, the intake hose should be attached to its spigot by a wire clip.  The fuel filter hoses can be left attached to the fuel filter lid, just pulled aside. Sorry, don't know about the inserts.
