Zafira central locking fail???

Featured Replies

Would this be controlled by a fuse or relay???

It is friends car and he has no manual book. Need to get fuel flap open too and gonna look at that now.

Have you tryed putting the key in the ignition and switching the car on(but not starting)then while switched on press the lock and unlock and it should sync the key

Yes, sorry guys.................I should have said there is no central locking at all, even with the key inserted in the door......

Fairly sure (correct me if I am wrong) it is an issue on the car, and not the remote. And the other 3 doors are deadlocked. He did try the sync tho as well. Just checked - the CL fuse number 11 looked burned (hard to tell) but has been swapped anyway without luck.

Got the fuel flap open with a credit card, Lol.. He's gone to fill up now.

He is gonna have a word with the garage it has just come back from as has had a new exhaust fitted, and then probably gonna have to get it scanned.

They can be affected in this manner when the wiring harnesses going into the doors gets broken on one or more doors. The doors should unlock eventually (provided the fault isn't with the key/car receivers as stated) if you keep working the lock/unlock buttons. Once you get the doors open, peel back the rubber boots to check the wiring and repair any that are broken.

Cheers guys for the input.........

Started working again today, luckily...............I think it is an issue with the rear door (tailgate) lock. Am I correct in thinking that as well as the tailgate locking & unlocking with the central locking, you should also be able to unlock the tailgate with the key inserted in the tailgate and be able to remove the key whilst it remains unlocked.

In this situation with a quarter turn clockwise (from horizontal) to unlock, when you turn the key back horizontally to remove the key, it locked again, and I think it should only lock if you turn it quarter turn the other way..........Ie lock sticking?????????

Long time since I've had this type of boot lock, with a button.
