Octavia 2017 Hatchback & Estate vs Superb 2015 Hatchback & Estate Leg Room

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Is there a difference between the size of the normal Octavia 2017 vs the combi version in terms of legroom, or are they 100% identical ? Does anyone have the exact dimension differences between the two ?

What is the exact difference in terms of leg room you gain with Superb in cm vs Octavia ? Is this extra room to be found only for the back seats or you get something for the front seats too ?

Trying to find out if the Octavia back and front seats have enough leg room or only the Superb will be big enough.

The only major differences you get going from Octavia to a Superb is a multi-link back suspension, more boot and more legroom. Correct me if i am wrong.

Legroom in the O3 hatch and estate are identical. Although I'm 6ft 2" and have no problem sitting behind the drivers seat and wouldn't object to a long drive.

the S3 space is significantly improved over the Octavia, you won't need measurements unless you have a giant as a passenger.

no idea what the dimensions are like and I can't say I've ever seen that in a brochure, if it's important then pop to your local dealer with a tape measure ;)

As far as the differences between the Octavia and Superb really the Superb wins in almost every aspect. Better standard kit, more roomy cabin, bigger boot, much better engine choices (including the beloved 2.0 TSI 280ps AWD), also the build quality is better with more soft touch materials. I also think it's the better looking out of the two but I can imagine it would be tricky finding a space big enough for it.

bother very excellent cars however you mentioned the rear suspension; the O3 VRS and higher powered Scout come with independent rear suspension of that helps.

Go and try the cars for yourself.

Legroom is variable depending where the front seats are positioned, so its an open ended question...

Generally the Superb has a significant amount more than the Octavia.

FWIW I am 6 foot and drive with the seat back on the stops in my 2016 Octavia Wagon. The space behind my seat is pretty snug and you probably wouldn't want to spend too long a journey there, but it is bearable for shorter trips or shorter people!

... and I'm a tick under 6', but I fit behind my seat with inches in front of my knees to spare.

If you're looking for something that has a lot of room but doesn't look like it, grab either of the hatches.

The sedan and combi versions for both models have the same wheelbase for their respective types so the passenger accommodation is the same except the combi does offer the rear passengers slightly more headroom (15mm) due to the continuation of the roof line. The rear doors on the combi are also slightly different for the same reason and offer slightly better access.

You are always going to get conflicting customer comfort reports because of varying body proportions (torso/leg) of individuals.

A friend of mine complains incessantly of poor legroom in all cars and aircraft and while he is near 6 foot and has relatively long legs, his real problem is his incredibly bad seated posture. His normal slouched seated position taking up nearly 6 inches more than necessary.

Of course he also complains of a bad back.

Wikipedia have some internal measurements you are looking for.
