Rear window washer isn't working?

Featured Replies

New to this forum stuff but a few weeks ago I bought a 2006 fabia vrs. There was a few things that didn't work that I want to get sorted because it's annoying me knowing that they aren't working. One of the things is the rear window washer isn't working. I don't even know where to start as the front windscreen washers work perfectly. Help?! Cheers

There's  a push-fit  hose connection in the engine bay just under the ECU. It has probably popped apart.

If you get someone to operate the rear washer with the bonnet open you'll likely see the waterfall.

By the way, you really want to post and research model-specific issues about your car here: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/26-skoda-fabia-mk-i/

Add to that- there's a note somewhere on here, but as you're new to here, possibly won't see it or know about it. One reason the pipe connectors are said to pop off is due to high density fluid. in short ,WATER, which is denser than 50% wash mix. Skoda advocate using only a MINIMUM of 50% -and I've found that even Asda concentrate ( 50% in summer, 100% in winter) , mixed with a slurp of cheapest of cheap washing up liquid ( cheap ones don't foam ,but get off road grease) work OK. I've had mine for 10 years and followed this and had no problems.

Three places rear washer pops off

1- under bonnet, near ABS UNIT ,on bulkhead, front right looking from front

2- behind rear passenger seat connector

3- washer jet on rear hatch

1- indicated by water under car when rear wash operated

2- wet in boot area.

3- not sure- you'll have to search for the topic.

Thanks, I maybe thought it had been disconnected for a reason because the rear passenger seat head rest has a stain on the top of it. I thought the screenwash had maybe came through the boot lid to the interior. But I will check all the three places and see what's what. Thanks!

Good place to look ( for info, no other reason) is the sticky on useful Fabia posts. Somewhere at the top of the Fabia MK1 section.
