Front Driveshaft Leaking

Featured Replies

Have just took my Fabia SEL 1.2 TSI 110 for its second service (2 year old) and it has been kept in for repair due to a leaking right front driveshaft seal.

My concern is that as the car has only done 9213 miles from new is this a common fault and likely to happen again outside warranty.

Any one else experienced similar problem?

2015, 32000 km and no.

No ... ditto - July 2015, 36,000km (22000+ miles) - no problem.

No, it's not a common occurrence. In fact, it's quite rare these days on a young car. Yours is just a fluke fault I suspect. If it gets to 10 years old and high mileage then maybe keep and eye on them, as with all cars.

Thanks for your replies - I guess I have just been unlucky and fortunately it has been resolved under warranty.

Just had my Fabia tsi sel 90 in for its second service 13.5k everything came back ok. I think you have just been unlucky Joe

I always get black thoughts when I see a leak around a diff or driveshaft - the words "bearing issues" tends to come to mind, I don't mind being wrong though!

I know its an Octavia, but I had a split driveshaft/CV boot at 7k miles on mine:
