I am about 8 months off from placing an order for my 3rd Octavia.
Looking at an SEL estate in Rio Red Metallic, hopefully with the new 1.5 tsi 150 engine and the virtual cockpit.

I'd appreciate your insight in to the following;

1) how easy is it to buy and fit an OEM Skoda black trim to replace the moutache enhancing chrome grill surround trim

2) how easy is it to buy and fit  Chrome Covers for the Door Mirrors, that alloy the Mirrors still to fold and function

3) OEM Skoda Alloys in 16" - Black or Smokey Grey - have not been able to find any as all seem to be 17" or larger - How robust to stone chips are coloured alloys

> one other thing the SEL does not seem to be able to be spec'd online with the heated windscreen, any insights as to why?

1.5 is coming this autumn we think. But I don't think this Octavia is getting virtual cockpit.

It's too early for advice about the grille has anyone done it on a facelift?

If it's anything like the current one, it's half an hour with a screwdriver gently prise off and clip on the new one.

The mirror caps unclip also.

Regarding the heated windscreen, could be configurator error, sometimes it is conditional on other things like heated seats, or headlamp washers, or some sort of winter pack.  Probably best to discuss with a dealer and they will check for you.

 

The heated windscreen option is available by clicking on heated washer nozzles so must be packaged.

Virtual Cockpit is coming to the Facelift mid this year
Will try the configurator again and select heated jets
Spec could all change by the time I'm ready to order

By virtual cockpit you mean heads up display or digital speedometer?

Found the heated screen is linked as suggested to heated seats and jets.

The chrome grill surround is a slightly different shape to the preFL so, you'll have to wait for it. Same goes for the lower chrome strip across the lower grill, nobody has made one of those before.
