About 20 years ago I took some footage (approximately 33 minutes worth) of Sea Kings, FA2 Sea Harriers and RAF GR7's (I think!) operating off HMS Illustrious whilst she was deployed in the Northern Arabian Gulf.  I am happy to post this footage online for other people to enjoy and share, especially those who had previously served on Her.  However,  as she was the last of the Invince Class, and we have no carrier force until the QEII Class comes into Service, I am aware of the potential historical significance this footage may hold, and there may be some 'professional' interest in the footage. I would therefore like to receive the credit (not necessarily in monetery terms) for the footage if some company decided to use it. 

 

What would be the best way to go about this?

 

Obviously I will post the footage on here, when I eventually pull my finger out and transfer it from its original tape!

Well don't put it on YouTube or any other 'free' online video streaming service. The Ts and Cs on those sites give the company the rights to use your videos globally.

 

I'm not sure how you would market or make available your copyrighted video. Commercial interest would depend on the quality and relevance I suppose.
