Can someone please advise if for a 2012 mk2 ovtavia vrs this is the right oil?

 

Petronas Engine Oil (Syntium 3000 E Engine Oil - 5W-40 - 4ltr)

Depends if it's on fixed servicing or veriable.

 

If fixed yes should be Patronas syntium 3000 e 5w40 grade or Castrol edge 5w40.

On Veriable or as VW call it "longlife" then it needs 5w30 fully synthetic from patronas or Castrol.

 

If it has Maxidot then you can tell witch by looking when the next service is needed, fixed is usually 9200 miles or 365 days and long life is normally 18000 or 720 days, but this does count down.

It is on qg1 so variable.  was looking at petronas syntium 5000 5w30.  30 quid for 4 l.

Thats not a bad price to be honest, i's purchase 5l's so you have some for top up's
