Anyone have a source for speaker adaptors and connectors? Cannot seem to find specific adaptors for the mk3.

Aim is to just replace speakers with better quality high efficiency speakers and make do with the head unit.

Usually people build/cut custom ones out of MDF.

I got those adaptors, they don't fit without removing the full lip of the ring. And you need to use your own fixings too. The wiring connectors are also wrong, I had to modify the oem connectors to suit. 

So just for anyone who reads this, don't get the adaptors listed here. I installed some high efficiency focal component speakers in rear doors, left the oem tweeters alone. 

Sound is much improved in rear, very noticeable.

I was going to do the front, but I do not know if I need a crossover or not. And I do not know how to wire it as I fear I would have to cut the wires to both tweeter and woofer, then route to crossover, then to the new speakers.

 

Would really appreciate some help on this, please chime in folks, bit lost on this.

Do I need a crossover??

Can I just buy component and install without using the crossover??

No you cant. See if you can fit the crossover some place in the door. Then it should be rather easy to route some new short wires to the woofer and tweeter.

Hi. Sorry for lifting this old topic but have you found 6'5 adaptors for front door? All I can find is for mk2 up to 2015 model.
