Alarm Woes

Featured Replies

I have been having troubles with the alarm sounding on my 2000 fabia elegance ever since new. Been to the dealer several times in an attempt to get it fixed with no success. They seem to fix it for a short while, and then it starts sounding again. It went off last night a few times, and the night before, so I went out to have a go at adjusting the internal sensor located in the internal light cluster only to discover that there is no internal sensor present. It looks it like it has been removed; by the dealer no doubt with a small piece of foam covering the location where the sensor used to be They have never mentioned this to me. Anyone else had such an experience? Or could perhaps a small piece of foam be an internal alarm sensor in a fabia?????

When I had trouble with the Fabia's alarm, it was the bonnet switch. The plastic housing for it was cracked and so water got in causing trouble with the alarm at random periods during the night.

It's located near the catch for the bonnet (too dark to take a picture at the mo, sorry).

As to the interior sensor, don't know what it looks like behind the cover - but expect someone will answer your query on that.
