Just got my first Skoda...

Featured Replies

Took delivery of a MKIII Superb Hatch SE Tech 2.0 TDI DSG in Quartz Grey last week and I'm like a kid with a new toy. I've done just short of 500 miles so far and in so many ways, this car seems better than the demo's I test drove before ordering. My only issue, which I hope I can overcome, is that for some reason I just don't seem able to get the lumbar support just right? I jump in the passenger seat and it immediately feels comfy, but for some reason I just can't get the drivers seat to feel the same?

I'll see how I get on over the next few weeks and if it still isn't right, maybe I'll see if someone on this forum can offer a little advice.

Love the car though........... and looking forward to reading the experiences of other owners on this forum.

All the best,

Terry

Hi, and welcome

When I posted about upgrading from my mk11 to a mk111 one of the comments was the comfort of the drivers seat ( or lack of being able to get comfortable) this was put down to a slightly off set driving position due to the pedal locations, could this possibly be the reason you can get comfortable in the passengers seat but not the drivers seat ?

Hi David, thank you for the welcome and the quick response.

In truth I haven't noticed any off set, with one foot on the rest and my other on the throttle everything looks about right.... I'll check on my drive home tonight.!

It's more like I can feel a bar right across the very bottom of my back and no matter how I position the lumbar support, it's just there. I don't 'remember' there being an issue when I first collected the car (but can't say for sure there wasn't, excited and all that), nor for the first couple of days but... I let a colleague sit in the car and he immediately played with every button on the seat, unfortunately I hadn't set the memory. Maybe the issue was there or perhaps I just haven't managed to reset everything correctly?

Maybe I need to make small tweaks and then drive the car a little before trying again?

Thanks again,

Terry

Hi Terry,

I got to put my hand up and apologise I questioned as was referring to the Octavia, must have been a practice for me having future senior moments!!

From your reply it may just well be that you need to find ( if there is one ) the default position on the seat and then fettle it again to suit your requirements, don't forget to set the memory, haven't heard or read of any issues on your car seating to be fair and I've just recently been assured that the mk111 in the Superb guise is actually better than the mk11

Hello Terry welcome to the forum.:)

Hi Dave,

I'm as sure as I can be that the seat was perfectly comfortable when I collected the car, my very first journey (from leaving the garage) was about 25 miles and I think I would have noticed. I wonder if there is a 'factory default' for the seat?

Thanks again for posting.
