High pitched squeak when changing gear

Featured Replies

Guys and girls, I have a "thing" happening (I won't say problem because it may not be) has anybody else had this "thing"? Basically if I am "givin' it large wheeey" and changing gear either quickly or at high revs, "SoMeTiMeS" I get a very quick and very high pitched squeak?? Any in for or advice would be greatly appreciated, I am mechanically minded, which is sometimes my worst enemy as I only see the worst if it is my own car

Car is 53' Octavia 1.8 20v T Vrs

Driving technique question - Do you flat shift or lift when changing up? If you flat shift, you might be hearing the turbo bypass cutting in to stop overboost.
